We had the BEST weekend! Matt and I were asked if we wanted to be a part of a weekend retreat hosted by the Ministry Support Network. We feel so blessed to have been a part of such a fantastic group of people. The Lord truly knew what we needed when He opened this door. We not only made some very wonderful friends, we walked away feeling renewed and rejuvenated. Matt and I are both so ready. We absolutely cannot wait to find our next ministry job. We want nothing more than to get teens excited about their relationship with Christ. This weekend we were able to share our stories. And we cannot wait to help others develop their story, be a part of their story, and grow our story! We have no idea what God has in store for us, but we both agreed that wherever that is we are ready to get to work. We are ready to grow closer to the Lord and help others do the same. We are excited about ministry and want others to be excited about it as well! I ask that you pray with us. Pray that God opens our hearts and minds and that the door is so abundantly clear that we can't help but jump through it! I have no idea what our future holds but I know it's going to be awesome! We have hope for a future because of the awesome God we serve. We are so very blessed to have you in our lives! Thank you so much for your support, love, and prayers!

On Bended Knee

I feel like Matt and I have been doing more of this than anything else these days...and that is an awesome thing! Not that we weren't in the practice of prayer before but I think we have gained new insight on the whole "pray without ceasing" aspect of prayer. I think we have both been finding ourselves talking to God a lot throughout our days. I know I find myself just saying stuff in my head and realizing that I am talking with God. It's funny because growing up I think people tend to think that prayer has to be this formal thing (don't get me wrong...i think that sometimes it should because God is absolutely worthy of that praise) but we often times forget that there is no right or wrong way to pray as long as we are talking to our Father. As a teen I was so afraid to pray in front of others because I was afraid that I wasn't going to pray right...I was at the Teen Leadership Conference in Branson and got awakened to this whole new insight on prayer and now I can't stop doing it...and I want to pray with others...and for others. After all, wouldn't it be silly not to go straight to the One that can answer those prayers. And of course you cannot have a relationship with someone or get to know someone without talking with them first. With that being said, our relationship with Christ has grown so much over the past year. We are praying without ceasing for our future. We absolutely cannot wait to see where God is taking us. Please pray for our journey and the next step. We have faith that God is going to take care of us and we really do lean on that everyday...there is absolutely no other choice. I know I talk about this a lot lately...our future...but it is so on the forefront of our minds. We are ready to get our hands dirty!! And possibilities in the air are very exciting so we are praying for that...and we ask that you do too!

Are you talking to and leaning on God? Can we pray for you for any reason?
What are your thoughts on prayer?

Make a Wish...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT!!!

The family celebrated by going to:
Andrea drove the girls to meet up with the boys!

Dad and Mom enjoying their time with family...
Matt and I enjoying the celebration!

We enjoyed a big dinner and went back to the house to spend some time together.
Matt got presents! We had such a fun time!

Then Sunday night...Matt and I went to the movies to see:

I clearly wasn't thinking before we left:
but it did not hinder the show at all or our time together!

Here's to Year 28!!

Then it's time for:
We did not go to see fireworks...although we saw some last night on the way home from the movie...and I hear some right outside as I am writing this...so I guess you could say we still got to be a part of how this country celebrates our Freedom! And let me just give a shout out to all the military men and women who have sacrificed their lives and time to allow us to celebrate such a wonderful day. But there is more Freedom to celebrate. As Matt prayed for tonight, we Christians are thankful that we can celebrate Freedom from sin because of our loving Savior and His sacrifice.

This is how we ended our night:

Dad and Matt grilled burgers
They were delicious!
Mom made corn on the cob and...

Yummy Blackberry Cobbler!

I would say that we had a great weekend! We enjoyed family, friends, and fun! Lots of things to celebrate this weekend! I hope you and your families have made the most of your weekend as well!
